KOREA POLYTECHNICS COLLEGES (KOPO)
UI Project
Korea Polytechnics is a national institution for technical education and vocational training under South Korea’s Ministry of Employment and Labor. Its nationwide network of campuses provides practical, industry-focused education, helping people of all ages develop professional skills and pursue employment.
Following the name change from Korea’s functional colleges to Korea Polytechnics, the visual identity was developed around “KOPO,” derived from Korea Polytechnic. The symbol combines these letterforms into a unified expression of technology, people, and the future. Interlocking “O” and “P” forms represent the connection between technical expertise and human potential, while the star-shaped “K” conveys vision and aspiration.
Inspired by Obangsaek, Korea’s traditional five-color system, a set of graphic elements was also developed and applied across signage, stationery, and promotional materials, creating a consistent visual identity rooted in Korean cultural heritage.
